ReadChi ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is dedicated to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how our iOS application collects, uses, and safeguards your information.

1. Information We Collect

We prioritize keeping your data on your device as much as possible:

Local Data: Your imported reading material (EPUB, TXT, PDF, DOCX), dictionary lookup history, reading progress, and flashcards are stored locally on your device using Core Data and secure device storage.
Account & Authentication: If you choose to sign in (via Google or Apple Sign-In), we store your basic account identifier, email address, and name solely for cloud synchronization across your personal devices.
Usage & Crash Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated diagnostic data may be collected to help us identify bugs, improve reading parser stability, and optimize app performance.

2. Third-Party Services

Our application interacts with trusted third-party services only where necessary:

Apple Inc.: For app distribution, in-app purchases, and optional iCloud synchronization under Apple's standard terms and privacy policies.
Cloudflare: For secure API delivery, content CDN (Explore stories), and edge server infrastructure.

3. Offline Dictionary Data

All dictionary queries (CC-CEDICT) and offline vocabulary lookups are performed directly on your local device. We do not track or sell the specific terms or articles you read.

4. Account and Data Deletion

You have full ownership of your data:

You can delete any imported book, saved card, or reading log directly in the app.
To completely delete your account and all associated cloud sync records, go to Settings > Account > Delete Account in the app, or email us at support@readchi.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request".

5. Children's Privacy

Our service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
